Crovie was almost completely destroyed by a huge storm in 1953, but today it consists again of some 20 houses, mostly used for the weekend. The fishing industry has long decreased.

Entering the small town of Bowmore (rather a village) on Islay. The distillery offers fine Single Malt Whisky, the coast and landscape is fascinating for hiking and fishing.
