I had started visiting the abbey this day and soon realized that the sun had come out. So I went to the abbey fields with the confluence of the rivers Severn and Avon and strolled alongside the old small canal towards the mill.
I underlaid some textures by shadowhouse creations to give it a vintage look.

The canals of Alkmaar provide nice views of the old town, including the architectural gem of the old Scale (Waag) with its nice market place for selling the famous cheese.

Built in 1180 the Gravensteen in Gent was used as fortress,prison,factory and was sheduled to be demolished in the late 19th century. In 1885 the dungeon was restored and has been a museum ever since.

Furness Abbey was founded as early as in 1124 but was left to ruins after 1537. Although not much is left of this once impressive abbey I liked the scenery with the old canal looking towards the forest and the old abbey.
I’ve got a good contrast music here, how about some ambient progressive rock?

The long canal in Damme, Belgium with the long aligning row of trees and the sea lillies made it a nice painting for me.

The tower of the cathedral in Dordrecht was never completed due to the swampy surrounding. Still the clock on the tower is very special and the bells sound impressively, the carillon is very good!
